Will Beaver
Chief Executive Director
For over 10 years, Will Beaver has played a major role in supporting people through recovery from addictions and mental illness. Having worked the entire gamut of recovery services, from treatment tech to executive director, Mr. Beaver has gained knowledge and expertise in providing care to clients from the detox to outpatient levels of care. He has built several programs from the ground up, establishing his reputation as an innovative and effective leader, inspiring his staff as much as his clients. He brings to his position as Executive Director a profound empathy for the challenges faced by people struggling with mental illness and addictions and the expertise and knowledge to develop a program that can help people live their best lives and achieve a brighter tomorrow.
Kris DeFeo
Executive Director
Kristal DeFeo is Executive Director of New Horizons Recovery Centers-Kennett Square, PA location. She is a behavioral health clinician at heart while having a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Counseling from Saint Joseph’s University and was born in Philadelphia, PA.
With over 13 years experience in behavioural health field, she started as an addictions therapist for Merakey (Previously NHS) working at Parkside Recovery after grad school. She has experience working for both adolescent and adults populations in both substance use and mental health.
Some of her experience has led her to also assist various organizations with Program Development such as Merakey (Methadone Maintenance), Mainline Health-Mirmont Outpatient Adolescent Substance Use Program, and Resources for Human Development-Lower Merion Counseling & Mobile Services as Lead Addictions Specialist.
In the last four years Kristal began working non-direct care in Regulatory and Compliance as a Regional Quality Assurance Strategist/Lead Outpatient Clinical Surveyor with both Universal Health Services-Keystone Center as well as Recovery Centers of America. Kristal has knowledge of accreditation standards in both Outpatient and Inpatient Programs with a special focus in Care, Treatment, and Services (CTS). She has worked across NJ, IN, IL, and MA to help out of state providers align with accreditation standards as well. Kristal has been part of countless state and national surveys including DDAP, OMHSAS, DHS, BSAS, and Joint Commission.
While taking a break from direct care, Kristal launched KDCOACHING LLC in 2021 to continue seeing clients and offers non-traditional therapy and effective coaching all while decreasing stigma and helping clients to find their true self. During this time she became a published poet and author. She has also worked along side PA Huntsmen Elite Hockey Team based out of Chester County offering group processing and mental health support to athletes as well as LA fitness-Broomall and PA YouthMove (NAMI) to promote mental health support. Kristal was featured in blogs for Philadelphia Department of Behavioural Health and Intellectual Services as advocate for recovery. Her favorite techniques are inspired by DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing all of which she is trained in.

Jane Cohen
Clinical Director
Jane Cohen has been working in the field of addiction and mental health treatment for over 10 years. She brings a holistic and integrated approach to her work as a clinician and as a Clinical Director. She incorporates her training in a variety of treatment methods into her own practice and into the development of groups and programs that address the diverse needs of individuals and families struggling with mental illness, addictions, trauma, and relationship issues In providing clinical leadership, Jane brings her expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Coherence Therapy.
Krista Panella
Nurse Practitioner
Helping people has always been Krista’s calling. And now, nearly two decades after starting her journey in medicine as a Nursing Assistant, Krista has accomplished her dream of becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. While managing a full-time nursing career where she has worked in dual diagnosis centers, CRCs, emergency rooms, infusion therapy, MAT and young adult units, Krista worked tirelessly in her off hours dutifully earning her degree as a Master of Science PMHNP-BC.
Krista’s passion for nursing in the field of psychiatry is fueled by her desire to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health and substance use disorders. She believes individual therapy along with psychopharmacology are ideal for effective and efficient recovery.
Krista is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her patients and their families. She is committed to educating clients and their loved ones on practical methods and strategies for reducing the negative effects of drug use and wellness.

Brianna Gossert
Lead Therapist
Brianna joined the New Horizons team in October of 2022 as our Lead Therapist. She brings 7+ years of experience in both the mental and behavioral health field. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Penn State University and then got her Master’s in Criminal Justice from St Joseph’s University. Brianna brings a sincere sense of compassion and understanding to her position. On any given day, she will argue that the best part of her job is being able to see the growth in her clients throughout their time in treatment as well as being able to help those who may not feel able to help themselves.

Cortney Huber
Chief Compliance Officer
Cortney Huber has been engaged with the mental health and substance abuse fields as a Compliance and Human Resources Officer since 2017, supporting programs from the detox to the outpatient level of care. Ms. Huber ensures that clients receive outstanding services through compliance with the regulations established by OMHAS (Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services) and The Joint Commission, which sets the highest standard of care for programs delivering mental health and substance abuse treatment. In her role as Human Resources Officer, Ms. Huber is integral in developing a highly qualified clinical team that puts the needs of our clients at the center of our work.

Lori Wilson
Clinician in Training and Office Manager
Lori is the Office Manager as well as a Counselor’s Assistant at New Horizons Recovery Centers. Lori is responsible for ensuring that our office runs smoothly, coordinating meetings, arranging for office supplies. Lori provides general support to the rest of the staff as needed. Lori also co- facilitates groups and coordinates with the other therapists to ensure that our clients are getting the best experience here at New Horizons. Lori is currently working towards her bachelor’s degree in Psychology to accomplish her goal of becoming a Substance Use Disorder Therapist. Lori has a passion for those struggling with the disease of addiction and believes everyone deserves a second chance at having the life that they envisioned for themselves.
